On February 28, 2025, Consul General Zhao Xiuzhen, based in Davao, paid an official visit to Meilong Enterprise, a leading Chinese-invested durian export company operating in the region. The visit was joined by senior representatives from the Philippine Department of Agriculture Region XI (Davao) and the Davao Port Quarantine Services of the Bureau of Plant Industry, highlighting the importance of cross-border collaboration in the fast-growing durian trade.
The on-site exchange focused on strengthening export processes, enhancing quality control standards, and deepening cooperation between Chinese enterprises and local Philippine authorities. Meilong Enterprise, as a front-runner in durian exports to China, plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of the China–Philippines agricultural supply chain.
This visit underscores the commitment of both countries to boosting agricultural trade, supporting durian as a flagship export product, and jointly opening new chapters in regional agri-tech innovation and global fruit supply connectivity.
